Craig Boswell McDermot was formed in 1997 when John McDermot joined John Craig and Cary Boswell in a family law and civil litigation partnership. The firm expanded again in 2003 when Rob Boswell added his employment law and WSIB practice.

In 2004 the firm moved to its current location at 158 Dunlop Street East. Our former partner Cary Boswell was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice in December 2007.  In February 2009, after articling with us through 2008, Amanda Chapman joined our firm as an associate lawyer.

158 Dunlop Street East was first settled in 1835 by Dr. Archibald Pass, who became County Coroner and a member of the first town council. The property continued as the principal residence and office for a physician continuously until the early 1990s.The current building was built in 1876 by Dr. Edward Morton and was subsequently owned by Dr. Ernest Turnbull.
